I thought the stork brought it

Oval's post about the female anatomy reminded me of a story my mom told me. A woman where she worked was pregnant (and I believe it was not her first child) and somehow they got into a discussion about giving birth. This 35-year old woman was shocked to discover that her baby didn't come out of the same hole that her pee did.

Does that disturb anyone else?

So. Here's the thing. The urethra (in my experience) is not the easiest thing to find. SO, it seems to me that if one thinks the pee and the baby come from the same place, it's gotta be the vagina. Right? But imagine not knowing what's happening with your vagina to such an extent that you're not really clear on what comes out of it. To me, the vadge is one of the more obvious orifices. I'm not saying that the vadge I know is a gaping maw, but really...
It's a sad world when women don't know what's going on below the waist. There's kind of a lot of business happening there. The question I have, are the female sex organs really SO complicated? Or are the weenie and balls just so damn obvious that anything but that system is a giant mystery? Just saying.
