"Once you take away the pubic hair, there's really not much mystery there!"

Here's an interesting essay on the fairly recent phenomenon of removing all traces of hair from our nether regions. That's actually what struck me about the Tom Ford ad.

I LOVE this essay. There's so much to respond to and so much to ask. It's especially fantastic for me that e.e. cummings was quoted-- that poem is the one and only poem I have ever memorized. I have ten billion thoughts about pubes, but here's one to throw out there... I have always found armpit hair very erotic. Some is less appealing than others, of course, but when I see (especially a woman) who has let her pit hair grow, I am fascinated and become a total pit voyeur. Come to think of it, most of the women I've ever had crushes on sported the pit hair. I felt so weird about it until I realized that the armpit is a mini pubus, in a way. When a woman leaves her pits wild and free, it's a hint of her pubic hair and really, that's quite sexy. Also, any time a writer uses "thatch," I'm enthralled.
